Nurul Farhana: No pressure to do well
PETALING JAYA: Although she was sometimes teased by her friends about being the Education Ministry secretary-general’s daughter, Nurul Farhana Zulkurnain (pic) never felt pressured from her parents to perform.
“Sometimes my friends would say ‘what would happen if you don’t get an A?’ and I would just reply that I would have to work harder,” she said when she collected her Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah results yesterday.
The SK Kampung Tunku Year Six pupil’s father is Tan Sri Dr Zulkurnain Awang.
Nurul Farhana, who scored 5As, said she did exercises every day and discussed trial questions with friends.
The 12-year-old did not have any problems answering her Mathematics and Science papers in English although her favourite subject was still Bahasa Malaysia because it was easy to score.
Dr Zulkurnain said that although he could not spend a lot of time with his daughter because of his work schedule, he always prayed for her success.
“The most meaningful gift for a parent is to see his child do well in school,” he said.
